Intel to Adopt USB 3.0 in 2012
Just two days ago we posted about AMD’s announcement that they would be supporting USB 3.0 on their new A75 and A70M Fusion chipsets. Apparently on the same day, Intel announced their support to USB 3.0, but it didn’t make the news rounds like AMD’s announcement did. On Intel’s Ivy Bridge, which now looks to be postponed to 2012, there will be USB 3.0 support as well as Intel’s Thunderbolt technology, currently only available on Apple computers. AMD will also be supporting Thunderbolt, according to the article linked.
