OCZ Releases Vertex 3 SSD

OCZ, who by now needs no introduction, has announced its release of the Vertex 3 SSD line. Running off of the Sandforce SF-2200 controller, the Vertex 3 has a max read/write of 550/500MB/s, respectively. Coupled with SATA III’s 6Gbps data transfer rape, this is sure to be a fast drive. CEO of OCZ Ryan Petersen said, “The Vertex 3 series with the SandForce SF-2200 SSD processor has been eagerly anticipated in the marketplace. Our partnership with SandForce has again facilitated the introduction of a solution that sets the benchmark for industry leading performance and reliability.” It’s available from the usual places in 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB varieties.
