Hours after Apple's Update, MacDefender is Back

Just hours after Apple’s security update to fix problems with the Mac Defender malware, theirs an updated version called “Mdinstall.jpg” going around. Another name for it is Mac Guard. If you see this file floating around, stay far away. It works in generally the same way, but it works as the newer version of Mac Defender worked in that it didn’t need your administrator password. But for some good news, Apple’s update stopped any previous version of the malware from working. Check out the release notes and find links to download the update here.
