Super Talent Announces New "CoreStore" SSD Line

Super Talent, who is big on the flash-memory scene, announced today their new line of “CoreStore” SSDs that are proposed to bring crazy performance to PCIe and mini-PCIe interfaces. It comes in two different versions with each version having different sizes. There are ones that are MLC (multi-level cell) and ones that are SLC (single-level cell). For the MLC SSD, it reads at 350MB/s and writes at 80MB/s. For the SLC SSD, it reads at 350MB/s and writes at 220MB/s. No, there are no typos in the last two sentences. These drives achieve these ridiculous speeds by “combining the very latest Marvel controller (88NV9143), new DDR ONFi 2 flash and plugging directly to the PCIe bus.” The PCIe interface is branded CoreStore MP, while the mini-PCI-e interface is branded CoreStore MV. The former is for desktops, and the latter is for embedded systems and other devices such as laptops and netbooks. They come in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants. The press release didn’t include any pricing or release date information. For a demo and evidence of the speeds check out this video demo.
