Samsung Denies Installing Keyloggers on Laptops

· by John Ponio

A report the other day said that a man had found a keylogger on brand new Samsung laptop. After the man called tech support, Samsung first denied it, then blamed it on Microsoft, then admitted to it, and now they’re saying that the antimalware program that Mohammed Hassan, who originally found the problem, came up with a false positive. Samsung claims that the program VPIRE, the program that found the keylogger, came up with a false-positive as a result of Microsoft’s Live Application folder. This claim by Samsung has been confirmed by multiple computer-security firms, and Samsung has launched an investigation into the whole ordeal.
