More NVIDIA Lawsuit Problems
Back in 2008, NVIDIA got involved in a class-action lawsuit over their GPUs and MCPs laptops. NVIDIA took out millions in reserve to repair the chips in Apple, Dell, and HP laptops. There was a problem with the HP laptops that made them unrepairable, so NVIDIA offered to buy the owners of the unrepairable laptops new computers. This sounds like a great deal, until you hear what laptop they’re replacing the broken laptops with. It’s a $279 single-core Compaq Presario CQ56. That’s right: if you bought an HP laptop with this problem, NVIDIA will replace it with a less-than $300 laptop no matter how much you payed for the broken laptop. You could have spent $1000 on an HP laptop, and they will only replace it with the Presario CQ56. To read more on this, go to a pretty long article about it here.
