Hulu adding subscription service for $9.99/month

Streaming Netflix is great on my Xbox 360 but I always come back to Hulu for current shows that aren’t on DVD yet. With Hulu’s new Hulu Plus subscription service you will be able to access Hulu’s content on more than just your PC. Hulu Plus will support the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, PS3 (soon), and Xbox 360 (2011). Hulu Plus also supports certain internet enabled TVs and Blu-ray players from Samsung, Sony, and Vizio. With your $9.99/month subscription you will also get 720p video streams.

Even though it is cheaper than a cable subscription and everything is on-demand, some things never change. The bad news is you are still going to see ads. Also, many of the shows in the catalog that Hulu is touting are either canceled or ended last season like Flash Forward and Lost.

If Hulu Plus sounds like something you want then you can go to the Hulu Plus page and…apply for an invite? Yes, Hulu Plus is invite only right now. Bummer.
