HP Expands Battery Recall

A while ago, HP issued a voluntary recall of many laptops’ batteries. There was a big overheating problem with the batteries. HP planned to recall 162,000 batteries, according to DigiTimes, in both HP and Compaq laptops. A press release said, “We are taking this action as part of our commitment to provide the highest quality of service to our notebook customers. We are proactively notifying you of this issue and are prepared to replace all verified battery packs.” Just a few days ago, however, HP expanded the recall. Go here to see if your laptop’s battery is available for recall, even if it wasn’t in the past, and if it is recalled make sure to follow through.
