G. Skill Announces New 2Xnm SSD

· by John Ponio

G. Skill, a reputable manufacturer of SSDs and RAM, has announced a new SSD. The G. Skill Phoenix EVO SSD, pictured above, uses the SandForce SF-1222 controller and 2Xnm NAND flash memory. The only size available is 115GB, but it has read/write speeds of 280/270 MB/s. The reason it’s the weird size of 115GB is because of overprovisioning, in which they leave memory free for when the memory in use fails. It’s going to be available early this month, no word on pricing. Check out the product page here and the press release here.
