Diablo III Beta to be Released in Q3 2011

Just a few weeks ago news came out that Diablo III was in the home-stretch of development, so it’s no surprise that there’s news now of a beta that is to be released in Q3 2011. Mike Morhaime, who is the president and co-founder of Blizzard, said, “On the ‘Diablo 3’ front, I’m pleased to report that we began internal, company-wide testing last week. The game is looking great and we are currently targeting a Q3 launch for external beta testing. The development team is working hard to try to launch ‘Diablo 3’ this year, but I want to be clear. We do not have an official release date or window yet.” The last sentence is very Blizzard: it won’t be released until it’s done. But for now, we can be happy that a beta is coming out soon.
