Details on Sandy Bridge-E Processors Leaked

· by John Ponio

The same website who reported AMD Bulldozer delays is reporting information on Intel’s Sandy Bridge-E processors. There are quite a few new processors.

At the top of the list is the Intel Extreme Edition Core i7 3960X which runs at 3.3GHz standard (3.9Ghz Turbo Boost) on all six cores. Yes, six cores. With Intel’s hyperthreading, that gives a logical (as opposed to physical) 12 cores, It has a whopping 15MB of cache as well. Because it’s Extreme Edition, an unlocked multiplier is expected.

Next down is the Intel Extreme Edition Core i7 3930. Running at 3.2GHz standard (3.8Ghz Turbo Boost), this six core processor packs in 12MB of cache. Again, as it’s Extreme Edition, an unlocked multiplier is expected. It also has a 130W TDP.

Lastly is the Intel Core i7 3820. Sadly, the multiplier is locked. It’s a quad-core processor running at 3.6GHz (3.9Ghz Turbo Boost) with 10MB of cache. This has a 130W TDP as well.
