Commodore 64 is Back with Nettop Version

· by John Ponio

Commodore USA, whose website is has been up and down, is making a comeback with a new, revamped model. On the outside, you will see the classic machine in all of its glory. Inside, however, will be a completely new computer. The computer will be using a 1.8GHz Atom processor on a mini-ITX motherboard, NVIDIA Ion 2 graphics, 6-channel audio, up to 4GB DDR2-667/800 RAM, a DVD player or Blu-ray player (your choice), a card reader, and the other usual features of a nettop. The completely barebones model (the card reader and the case, pretty much) will run you $250, while a fully loaded, 1TB HD version will cost $895 (like the original Commodore 64). The computers will run Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
