Battery Technology Finally Advancing?

Looks like battery technology is finallyadvancing, according to Ioxus. They have found a new way to make hybrid battery-ultracapacitors. It will have more than twice the storage capacity of an ultracapacitor with a charging time of seconds rather than hours. The drawback with this new battery technology is life cycle. A typical ultracapacitor has millions of charge cycles, while this new hybrid battery will have around 20,000 cycles. The future use of these will be in auto applications as well as other things, but perhaps we’ll see a shift in mobile-device batteries in the semi-near future with this new technology.
