Asus to Begin Using Motherboard Shipping Box as PC Case
Major motherboard manufacturer Asus announced that they will start making their motherboard shipping boxes able to hold and support an entire computer. Beginning in June, Asus will start shipping the case-boxes (pictured above) with their motherboards. This isn’t a permanent case solution, but Asus claims they will last for up to at least a year. This is in attempt to cut down on shipping costs, as well as give PC builders a better way to build their computers while they’re still looking for the perfect case. This idea is just for Mini ATX motherboards, and it supports pretty much everything you’ll need for a computer to run. What worries me is that this seems like a fire hazard. I’m very curious to see how well it works, though. We’ll see in June how the market likes the idea.
