Art Lebedev Optimus Popularis OLED keyboard announced

It has been a couple years since the Art Lebedev Optimus Maximus OLED keyboard was released. You can still buy one for $2400. The Optimus Mini Three was launched for a couple hundred dollars around the same time for people who wanted a piece of the technology but couldn’t afford the extravagant price. Unfortunately it only had 3 buttons. Art Lebedev is back again with a chiclet style keyboard called the Optimus Popularis at a less ridiculous price of under $1000. It is thinner and doesn’t include a numerical keypad. The resolution on each key is up to 64x64 from 48x48 on the Maximus. It will be available near the end of this year or the beginning of 2011. The Optimus Maximus was delayed for a really long time so take that date with a grain of salt. This keyboard might cost more than your entire computer but it looks damn cool.
