AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 Processor Review @ amdgamer

So much power. So much money.

“The Athlon 64 FX-55 is the undisputable performance leader. At $1000 CAD we expected this CPU to kick some serious butt and it did! Because of it’s price this processor is positioned for the extreme enthusiast and not the everyday gamer or user. AMD offers a full line of CPUs at more than competitve pricing but for users desiring the absolute best, you need to look no further. Technologically, the FX-55 is unique and in a class of its own. AMD’s engineers managed to boost the .13 micron core by an extra 200Mhz since the introduction of the previous FX-53. You’d expect to see temperatures in the mid 50’s for a core running at this speed but AMD’s impressive cooling solution kept this monster at a cool 40-45C even during our tests and heavy work load.”
