Finally Intel introduces their 64-bit CPUs. Wondering how it performs?

Intel Pentium 4 6xx Review @ The Tech Zone

“With Microsoft recently announcing that they will no longer work on a mainstream Windows XP version for the Itanium chips (they will still maintain their server/high-end OS version), Intel has no choice but to release a compatible 64-bit chip to AMD’s solution. On February 20, 2005, Intel officially released the 6xx series Pentium 4 processors and a Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.73 GHz. These processors will support their EM64T 64-bit extensions as well as a few other features.”

The New Intel 660 3.6GHz and 3.73Ghz EE Review @ Gamepyre

Hmmm. What happened to comparisons against AMD Doc???

“My experiences with the 660 CPU and with the 3.73 GHz Pentium 4 Extreme Edition has for the most part been pleasant. No abnormal temperature readings or crashes were noticed during testing. Performance compared to the 3.4 GHz Extreme Edition I use in motherboard testing is nothing to write home about. In gaming, the 3.73 GHz sometimes trails the 3.4 GHz in my testing by a small amount, but mostly leads it. Office applications seem to get a boost compared to the 3.4 GHz EE, as shown by Sysmark 2004 and PCMark04.”

Corsair Xpert 3200XL Memory @ DH

I believe this to be the fourth review on the Xpert memory. All the reviews so far seem to hit a wall at 240MHZ though. But then again they’re using A8N-SLI which limits their headroom.
