Gigabyte 3D1 bundle @ TrustedReviews
Gigabyte’s 3D1 card sure looks impressive. What I’m wondering is…can this card run in a non-SLI board? Maybe I should actually read the review to find out.
“The 3D1 consists of two GeForce 6600GT chips on one board. Billed as a 256-bit card with 256MB of GDDR3 memory, it is in fact a dual 128-bit card, with each chip still limited to a 128-bit memory interface and only able to address 128MB of memory each. As well see this does limit the performance at high resolutions.”
Albatron Trinity GeForce PC6600U @ PCStats
Currently this can be considered the best bang for your buck. Looks like Nvidia is firm on getting back their crown.
“What makes the Albatron Trinity GeForce PC6600U special is that it is one of the first commercially available, virtually silent videocards. This next generation ‘stealth assassin’ gives the consumer excellent performance without the noise. Nice. Based on the GeForce 6600 GPU, the PCI-Express based, SLI-compatible, Albatron Trinity GeForce PC6600U has 128MB of memory as well as an impressive heatpipe GPU cooling system that is virtually dead silent.”
