Unreal Tournament 2004
Unreal Tournament may be
one of the most popular fragging first-person shooter series of all time,
and when UT2003 came out and wowed everyone with its advanced visuals and
gameplay, everyone looked forward to an enhanced version in the form of
UT2004. With added gameplay modes such as Assault and Onslaught and
combined with amazing graphics and benchmarking capability, UT2004 has
become a necessity in reviewing the
latest graphics card technologies. For testing, I used UT2004's
in-game benchmarking utility, which takes the average of the three levels
dm-rankin, as-convoy, and br-colossus.
Although UT2004 did not show that much disparity at lower
resolutions among the cards, we can see the power the 7800 GTX possesses
at the higher resolutions. At 1280x1024 and above with 4xAA and 16xAF
enabled, the 7800 GTX performs similarly to the SLI setup.
