Memory Overclocking World Record Set With G.Skill RipjawsZ
A new memory overclocking world record has been set by Christian Ney. He was able to overclock G.Skill RipjawsZ DDR3 memory to an astounding 1868.3MHz, which is 68.2MHz higher than the previous record. He used an A8-3870K “Llano” CPU, Voodoo3 2000 PCI graphics card, a GIGABYTE GA-A75-UD4H, and a 60GB Vertex 2 SSD with an SF-1200 controller. To cool it he used stock cooling on everything but the CPU and RAM, and for those two he used liquid nitrogen. Under load, the temperature of the RAM was -197.0° Celsius, which is one degree below liquid nitrogen’s boiling point.
