If you've been wanting to upgrade processors but not wanting to wait until Ivy Bridge comes out, you might be interested in Intel's Core i7-3820. The news today is both that it will be released on February 13, and that it will only be $285. That sounds like a lot for a processor to some, but you get a lot of bang for your buck. The only Sandy Bridge-E processor with four cores, the Core i7-3820 comes stock at 3.6GHz (3.9GHz with Turbo Boost) with 10MB of cache and quad-channel memory support. Quite a nice deal if you're in the market for a new processor but don't want to wait for Ivy Bridge.
