Hitachi has broken the current limit of hard disk drive capacity with their recently-released-in-Japan 4TB hard drive. If you didn't know, the previous limit was 3TB. Translation from Japanese to English is sketchy, but it looks like this drive has 32MB of cache, SATA 6Gbps, uses "CoolSpin Technology" to reduce heat and noise, and uses the model number HDS5C4040ALE630. It retails for ¥ 26,800 which, according to Google, is $345.72 USD. The product is not on Hitachi's website, but hopefully we'll see it in the US soon. You can check out my source here.
