Acer to Stop Making Low Quality Products

Acer Ultrabook

Budget notebooks. We all know the type: cheap plastic that's hardly holding together. Nothing against Acer, but they've put out their fair share of horrid-quality laptops. That's all going to change, though, as the company is changing up their game plan. After having net-losses in the last two quarters, Acer knows that they're doing something wrong. Ultrabooks are the new kid on the block, and Acer is hoping to bring up sales with their own. Acer CEO J.T. Wang said, "We will shift our strategy to improving profitability from pursuing market share blindly with cheap and unprofitable products. Ultrabooks will become our key growth driver next year as customers want a lighter, thinner notebook with longer battery life. Selling more ultrabooks will also help improve our profit margins as they command higher prices." Hopefully this works for them, as I'd love to see higher quality notebooks on the market.
