The US Federal Communications Commission has been reviewing the AT&T and T-Mobile merger, and they recently announced that their answer is no. Despite claims that the merger would allow AT&T to roll out a 4G network more quickly as well as create many more jobs, the FCC found no evidence that the merger would do either, but did find evidence (from history) that the merger would destroy tons of jobs as duplicate positions would be brought back to one person. This isn't the last stop for the merger, however. AT&T and T-Mobile still have a chance to defend the merger at a hearing before an administrative law judge. If they fail to convince the judge there, then that's most likely the last stop for this merger. You can read the source here.
