Are you one of the few who demand performance out your computer? Then you'll probably be very interested in this. OCZ has launched two new RevoDrives under the series RevoDrive 3 Max IOPS (IOPS of course meaning input/output operations per second). Like I said, there are two new drives: the RevoDrive 3 Max IOPS and the RevoDrive 3 X2 Max IOPS. The first has read/write speeds of 1025/950MB/s, respectively, with 140,000 IOPS, and is available in sizes ranging from 120-480GB. The X2 version has read/write speeds of 1900/1725MB/s, respectively, with 245,000 IOPS and is available in sizes ranging from 240-960GB. For those of you who don't quite understand what all of those numbers mean, just know that these drives are astoundingly fast. Daryl Lang, VP of Product Management at OCZ, said, "The new RevoDrive 3 Max IOPS solid state drives further expand on our original PCIe series, and are designed to deliver even more bandwidth for the most demanding applications. Engineered to leverage the benefits of multi-threaded processors and applications, the Max IOPS provides both the performance and features required by clients to address the most intensive workloads common in high performance computing and workstation environments."
