Seagate has recently announced that they will "streamline" the Barracuda series of hard drives, in hopes to reduce confusion in the markets as well as reduce overhead for companies dealing with all different types. The "Green" line will be no longer, as current HDs use just about as much power but with a lot better performance. The Barracuda XT line will disappear for a little while, but will come back as Seagate's SSD-HDD hybrid drive. The sizes for the new streamlined series will range from 250GB to 3TB. You can read more about it here. And for those wondering, I still haven't seen any updates on the flooding in Thailand. I wonder if this is an attempt to be able to meet demand in the present and coming future of few hard drives.
