OCZ has recently announced at the Needham 5th Annual HDD & Memory Conference that they will release a series of TLC (triple-layer cell) SSDs, much to the relief of a hurting storage market. TLC drives are about 30% cheaper to produce than MLC (multi-layer cell) and SLC (single-layer cell) drives, but have an expected life of only 4 years. Currently this will only be for the client market, but OCZ will add them to enterprise markets in Q3 2012. These drives are expected to be released in Q1 2012. You can read more about it here.
