Corsair Releases 180GB and 480GB High Performance SSDs

Corsair recently announced two new SSDs that bring a little bigger size with a heaping helping of performance. Using the SandForce SF-2280 SSD Processor, the new drives from in 180GB and 480GB sizes. Corsair claims that they are using the odd size as a step up from the 120GB mark, but it seems that they forgot about 160GB SSDs. There are two new series: the Force Series GT and the Force Series 3. The Force Series GT is a 480GB drive, and is the performance model. It has read/write speeds of 555/525 MB/s, with 85K Random Write IOPS. The Force Series 3 have both 180GB and 480GB models. It brings read/write speeds of 550/520 MB/s with 85K Random Write IOPS. Both drives are SATA 3 (6Gb/s) but are backward compatible with SATA 2. The Force Series 3 180GB s available now for $249; the Force Series 3 480GB is available now for $799; and the Force Series GT 480GB is available now for $999. You can read the press release here.
