In the many improvements that Windows 8 will bring, one that was recently detailed is the overhauled copying and moving user interface. Gone are the time estimates, sadly, but new is the fact that you can now pause transfers, all transfers will show in the same window (similar to Internet Explorer's or Firefox's downloads), and the transfer speed will be more easily seen. They also did some work with transfer speeds, so those should increase. Also back into Windows is the option to not have the delete dialogue (the "Are you really really sure you really want to delete this?" box that pops up every time you delete something). You can watch a video demonstrating all of the features here, and read the blog post about it here.
