Bethseda has recently announced and update for their massively popular title Skyrim. While it does fix a lot of bugs, the thing most everyone is excited for is the fact that the 1.6 update (yet to be released) will bring mounted combat to the game. If you play Skyrim on the PC, as I hope you would be, you can download the beta update through Steam and play with mounted combat as soon as it downloads and installs the update.
As far as downloading the beta update, it looks like Steam is your only option. Before you do anything, back up your saved games. Follow the method found in this forum post. To update, simply log into Steam, click on Steam, then Settings, then under the account tab look at "Beta Participation." If you currently aren't opted in for beta participation, click the "Change" button and change it. Steam will restart and you'll have Skyrim updated. If you need any help, or want to provide feedback, check out the beta forum. To undo the beta, if you want to go back to 1.5, just go back into the account tab and opt out of beta participation. Steam will restart and you'll have Skyrim 1.5.
