Indilinx Controller Used on OCZ's Octane and Vertex 4 Actually a Marvell Controller

Here's a shocker: the controllers that OCZ toted as an Indilinx controllers that were used on the Octane and Vertex 4 series are actually Marvell controllers with Indilinx firmware. That means both Everest 1 and Everest 2 weren't really Indilinx controllers. as I had thought, but rather they just used Indilinx firmware. The hardware is all the same, although OCZ does have the controllers running at higher clock speeds, which explains the speedy performance. AnandTech had it confirmed by OCZ that this was indeed the case. This controller, the Marvell 88SS9174, was also used in Intel's SSD 510 and Crucial's m4 SSD.
