Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin Beta 1 Released
|
The first beta build for Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, which will be the newest long-term-support OS From Canonical, has been released. The difference between this and other Ubuntu versions is that it will have long-term-support from Canonical, instead of the usual support-until-the-next-version-comes-out. Support will be given for this OS for five years after its release, instead of the previous two years. Sadly it doesn't look like 12.04 will include the new HUD Interface as a supplement to the traditional menu bar, but one can only hope. You can download install disks, pre-installed desktop file-system archives, live CDs, and all the rest from here. The full version is planned to launch on April 26.
