Case Modding Contest
Be sure to read the updates at the end of this post.
This month's InsaneTek contest giveaway will be based on the case modding theme. For those who have or will do case mods, be sure to join in on the fun. There are a total of 4 prizes and each prize can go towards your next case modding project. Grand prize: Cooler Master Centurion 5 The case was recently reviewed and was kept in great shape. Only some fingerprints are visible, but those can be easily cleaned off with a wipe of a towel. The prize will include the stock power supply. Second Grand prize: Raidmax Cobra Gaming Case The other 3 prizes are: Blue Logisys Cold Cathode Tube 300mm Blue Logisys Neon Light Tube 300mm with Spiral Pattern Blue Logisys Cold Cathode 80mm Fan Main winner will have the choice between all the prizes available. 1st Runner Up will have the choice of the leftover 4 prizes. 2nd Runner Up will have choice of the leftover 3 prizes, the 3rd Runner Up will have choice of the leftover 2 prizes, and 4th place will receive the last prize. InsaneTek staff will vote on the winners so the contest is kept fair. Simply do your best and show us what you've got. Impress us. Please read: CONTEST RULES Addition to contest rules: Since Cooler Master has kindly partnered up with InsaneTek on a regular monthly contest basis, grand prize winner must be registered in the Cooler Master forum. Registration must include valid email with contact information. If they can't contact you, then you're out of luck. Contest Information: To enter the contest, simply go to the Contest Section of the forums. You will see another section named "Case Modding Contest Submissions." Go in there and make a thread about your project. After your done, make one last post to tell us to close it. Thus it prevents anyone from trashing your thread. NO THREAD CRAPPING. Here is the fun part. Instead of just posting random pictures, we'd like to hear how you made your mods. It doesn't have to be detailed and extremely lengthy. A simple paragraph explaining your work of art would be great. To avoid picture theft, please write "InsaneTek Contest" on a piece of paper and show it in your pictures. This helps to prove that your mod is recent and that you still use it as your main system. We like to see new things, not old stuff from years ago. It is highly possible that people go around stealing pictures from others and posting it as their work. That's just plain theft. We don't like that. PLEASE keep all pictures at 640x480. Do not link pictures that are any larger. If you must link a picture that is larger than 640x480, please use URL tags instead of IMG tags. With that said, please enjoy your time in the forums. If you enter our contest, you might as well enter Cooler Master's contest too. They have great prizes as well. We would like to thank Cooler Master for sending us the Centurion 5 as the grand prize, as well as Sidewinder Computers for the case modding accessories. If there are any questions regarding the contest, feel free to email contests@insanetek.com Contest ends September 15, 2004. UPDATE: We understand that it might have been a little too strict on the requirements for entering the contest. Thus, please disregard the requirement of the 20 posts as mentioned in the contest rules. Please also disregard the need to describe your artwork, although it would be great if you did. All other rules still apply. Simply post your system pics along with a piece of paper that says "InsaneTek Contest" and register in the Cooler Master forum to be eligible. SECOND UPDATE: Raidmax is kind enough to help us and donated their Cobra Gaming case as one of the grand prizes. THIRD UPDATE: Due to popular demand regarding the shortage of time period, InsaneTek has updated the contest once again. The time period will be extended for another month until October 15, 2004.

I know plenty of people who are good enough at using PS and other editing software that they could add in a piece of paper with a hand holding it. But no use worrying about that...also people whose rig you have seen might decide to enter...I doubt you remember exactly who had which rig. Anyways this should be an awesome contest and I hope to see some awesome rigs

Great idea, maybe I can finish mine up and enter it in... Kind of weird winning a case in a case "modding" contest being that you will have already spent so much time on a case to make it your own that now someone is going to give you another but oh well, nice prize in any case... Good luck to everyone...

where have you been mickey? but definitely join. it'll be a good way to tell people how you modded and show off your goods. reason why i made the grand prize a case is that it gives you something to mod again in the future, without having to go out and buy another case.

Dont get me wrong, prizes promoting the art of modding is ALWAYS a great thing. it is really nice to see this area I am now becoming very fond of, to grow. I havent really "gone" anywhere. I was out for about a week at Quakecon 2004. Unfortunately my mostly finished case design did not win as apparently the VIA judges were picking the (what I like to call) "artistic" or "anything but stock" type of case designs. I dont particularly care for artistic theme based mods myself, not that they dont have merrit, but they arent my style.
Anyways, I have been busy at work with a new promotion. Doesnt really look great if you get promoted and the first thing they see you doing is browsing the forums all day. I have been reading a lot of the posts here and there, but I dont always have time to post. In any case you can count me in to coming back if I havent ever said "Okay guys, I am leaving forever..." Or something to that nature... ![]() As far as the contest. I hope to join in on the fun and hopefully show others as well as learn from others (most of the fun) on some great modding skills. Some of the best mods were people's first mod. How was the format going to be done? I might have missed that part. One large thread, like this one here and we go on and on, or each person has their own thread in the picture area place. I think each one with seperate thread might be the best to keep from getting VERY confusing. Maybe everyone title their entry with "Case Mod: TITLE" to make it easy for everyone to find the various entries. Just a thought. I think things would get bad if we make one large thread and you have question after question to things that are not relevant on how the job was done... My two cents...
