Specifically, does anyone have any real world experience preference between the DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR and ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. They're pretty comparable boards and I've got a friend that built a box using the A8N-SLI board, and it works great, but of course, I've got another friend who says the Lanparty board is better, so being a forum, I'm sure there's gotta be someone who's had at least a bit of experience with both of these boards. Thanks

depends what you want. stock for stock, they'll be the same like any other board. asus always has better features. dfi the better overclocker.

Heh, thanks for the fast response poiuy, that's pretty much what I figured, just thought I'd ask in case there was anything I was overlooking.

it depends on the system build, and you should know that not every single mobo is made perfectly the same.
im my opinion:
dfi= oc & gaming + solid
asus= 1/2oc & gaming + solid
:D

i haven't had experience with the dfi board, but i have the a8n and i have to agree that it is a decent overclocker. i can't push my 3000+ past 2.4..

It would help us if you Listed the componets you plan on using for the build.

Like pouiy223 said DFI has better Overclocking Options but unless you have the Hardware to go with it you could just as easly get the Asus and end up in the same place.

The ASUS board is much more plug and play I think too. If you don't have some really nice OC'ing RAM, it might not be worth all the extra configuration headaches (sorry, bit of an OC newb) depending on your situation. My friend has the ASUS board and he loves it, very stable, and moderately OC'd. I just went for the DFI board. Will see how that goes in the next week or so.

well you dont always have to adjust the settings in the dfi bios. you can leave it all to AUTO other than the typical settings.

The default performance settings work well for most average users...............;)

I have a Dfi! and its got agp, but its a 754 :(

I would go with the Dfi board, if your looking for decent feautures, and great oc'in capabilities, it wont let you down...

well DFI's got a much better tech support forum, that's for sure. Asus' new one SUCKS. Proprietary board that's fugly and hard to navigate. Why don't people just stick with the good stuff (vBulletin / Invision Power Board)?!?!?!

because they like to come up with some fancy stuff. it rarely works

no **** :) I know (from reliable source) that they were examining other options a while back, but for whatever reason decided not to do much research into forums I guess.

Awww man, foot just fell asleep! AARRGG!!!

why is asus so respected anyway...
i have some old socket 370 asus board and in order to find a faulty ram stick (out of 4 sticks) i had to unplug and plug again my graphics card like ten times...
if that's not stupid board structure i don't know what is...
it's not even related to the size of the graphics card, any card would produce the same results

I've never had a problem with my ASUS K8V, besides that fact thats its VIA chipset and S754, lol but thats my fault.

mmm.....this is the exact problem I am having, except I am going with the non-Sli versions.
Are all the A8N-E mobos' PCBs that horrible green/yellow color? If so......Dfi wins for me.
