My board just drives me insane with constant freezing. I'm running SETI@home, winamp, IE, anti-virus, and in 5 to 30 minutes it freezes.
I've tried a few bios-settings, but none of them are helping, i've tried CPC on/off, tried to in- and decrease voltages..........ah i didn't try all settings on/off but i'm out of ideas.
What should i do to stabilize the system?
btw i have the latest bios flashed in (at least i think so, nothing is for sure in this mobo), and the latest nForce drivers installed.
Before you'd ask, yes, i have a crappy psu and rams but they've been working fine in my previous mobos, the msi k7n2 delta-l, and the asrock k7vm2.
:help:
Thanks in advance.

You will have poo in here saying I told you so ;) Get Folding@Home going, help out our team
I found that my psu f0cked me up in my A64 rig, it was rated at 450w but poor quality, running more than 3 programs caused it to blue screene and sometimes freeze, keeps doing it.
Can you borrow anyother psu to try out for a few nights to see if it gets better? You would be better off buying a quality psu really ;)

Well don't shoot but i'm folding for the Hungary team. :P
No offence i really like this forum but my home country is more important. :)
Maybe if it worked like at seti@h, whereas anyone can work for any team but their points are also added to the country team, i'd surely join InsaneTek.
Ah, yes i need a better psu but no one of my homies have a better psu....all codegen, nonames..........
Anyway i have 3 256 ram sticks, 2 'samsung' and 1 noname, i've removed the noname and it didn't freeze since that, but i'll run folding all night and i'll see if it freezes or not........hope not.
Damn with 512 mbs Farcry loads a century long! And it swaps lots of data on the hdd, really annoying.

Yea thought about that but there was no prob with the rams in the msi, that's why i put the noname into the the new board aswell. Well, guess i better get some nice rams, 2x512 at least. Maybe kingmax. Ah, whatever.
Thank for the advices, Ben.

How much do you have to spend around on the memory? Kingston Value Ram is usually good.

the kingmax is a waste of money. heres what you should do. sell your lanparty, get the infinity if you must go DFI, get a better psu, and get better memory

Look: if id sell the lp, that wouldnt be enough, need to sell psu, rams, cooler, the cpu, then id need a psu, a board, a good cooler, rams.....maybe an axp-m...lol and then i could OC but that's just crazy.
Im intending to sell the rams, the psu, and get a pair of cathode tubes, better rams, and a better psu. Thats it, over for at least another year or somethin. im tired of feeding this throw-in-your-money pothole....id rather :hatecompu
Hell its getting late over here. Hard to write in english...bye.........
