Is it a laptop? Is it a desktop? Samsung's 17-inch Sens G10 comes with no battery yet has a laptop form factor. The laptop has a spacious 200GB 7200RPM drive and a 17" LCD with great paper specs, but do people move their desktops around that much that there would be a market for this? I know I don't. Probably the only benefit of this form factor is that you can fit it just about anywhere. However, from my own personal experience laptops put a major strain on your neck if you use them for several hours at a time (I know, I'm bad). Staring down at a screen is not good for ergonomics. I use a laptop as my main computer right now and have to prop it up on a couple of Calc books to get it at eye level or my neck starts to hurt. These laptop/desktop hybrids are an interesting type of product that we have seen recently from Dell's XPS M2010, but will the design ever take hold? I would bet against it. So far all the products have been cost prohibitive. No price has been announced for the Sens G10.
Strange lack of a major laptop feature aside, at least this laptop won't be blowing up any trucks...
